Legéndy Jácint, whose new poembook was published by Kalligram Literary House the other day, is going to give special improvisative dance performances at 101 Club in Budapest from July 2021. The avantgarde poet started giving shows at ZegZug Underground Bar some years ago and his performances rapidly became famous in the Hungarian nightlife, but unofficially they represented Hungary on the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall in the German capital as well. The dance performances are usually inspired by spontaneous music circumstances and beside the personal motifs they contain ballet, pogo and tango elements at the same time. As it can be seen in the headline, the party series was originally launched by the well-know DJ Cuvious at ZegZug Club under the aegis of Heroes Party Series. The program focuses on the underground music of the '80s and it actually gives a taste of the best darkwave, postpunk, gothic or coldwave songs to the public.
Place: 101 Underground Club, 1072 Budapest, Rákóczi út 8/A., Hungary
Time: 9 pm, 23rd of July, 2021 - and then every second week, usually on Friday
Legéndy Jácint is an avantgarde poet, visual artist and performer. Since 2000 his poems have been published in several literary magazines. A highly respected publishing house, Balassi released his first poembook titled Központi Zóna in 2006. Many of his poems have been selected for different anthologies. Kalligram Publishing House issued his second book (RAF: Búcsúszimfónia, 2009) and his third book (Földalatti Oltár, 2019). Some Hungarian subtitles were made to the Oscar-nominated German film, The Baader-Meinhof Complex on the basis of poems, translations and essays published in his second book. In 2011 he showed his printing plate exhibition (ARTE Gallery, Budapest), which was based on a worldwide original concept and became very succesful. Two years later it was followed by a collage exhibition (Hungarian Workshop Gallery, 2013). Sometimes he gives dance performances in alternative music clubs and works together with underground music bands, for example: Ash Code and Black Nail Cabaret. His books can be found in the contemporary collection of different European and American libraries.
